What others are saying about us
5.0 out of 5 stars This book shares how one can influence another to be creative
I absolutely love the images, the words, the lessons, absolutely everything about What A Mess Kid! bravo Kayla Leon. You captured what it is to be an amazing parent and deal with the challenges. My dad raised us saying "reprimand the behaviour but don't break the spirit" well you take that to a whole new level. It really does help one consider what is important in life. The joy on James face offers love, joy and peace while the chaos is all around him. Great story and message. I chose to share the image above because I see happiness while the mother makes the decision to leave it behind and focus on what is important in life. Bravo absolutely light and heart-warming. A great perspective with opportunities to smile often. If you have not read the book, don't wait buy it today. Merci.

WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK
Hi, I'm Kayla Leon, and I wrote What a Mess, Kid to celebrate creativity, imagination, and, yes, even the beautiful messes children make!
My son, James, has ADHD, and often people would comment, saying things like, "James, you have your head in the clouds!" or "You're not paying attention." But when I looked at James, I saw something very different—I saw an incredible.
James lives in a world of boundless imagination. He dreams big, creates amazing things, and finds joy in every adventure. Sometimes his creativity leads to a bit of messiness—but that's all part of his wonderful, unique process.
I wrote What a Mess, Kid to help parents, teachers, and kids understand that each child's mind is special and deserves celebration. Kids aren't meant to fit neatly into boxes; they're uniquely themselves, full of potential and endless ideas.
My hope is that this book inspires you to embrace creativity, find joy in playful moments, and remember that even cleaning up together can be fun. Childhood is about laughter, exploration, and creating beautiful memories—one delightful mess at a time!
